TTYN

Yesterday when I was at work I was reading The Boston Globe online which featured a review of Paris Hilton's new show, "Paris Hilton's My New BFF." Why the Globe thought this show needs a review I will never know, but I will also not deny watching it.
I know I am stupid for even analyzing this, but the Globe reported this: "At the end of each episode, she sits on a throne and declares that her friendship with one of them is over. Her sendoff is 'TTYM,' text-speak for 'Talk to you maƱana.'"
TTYM? Isn't she saying TTYN? As in talk to you never?
Now, I can see where the author may have misheard the N as an M, but if you googled TTYM and it said "talk to you manana," wouldn't you have said to yourself, "Why would Paris want to talk to this person tomorrow?" And then subsequently googled TTYN and said, "wow, that makes much more sense?"
Its a tough world out there for someone who is always right. It is also a tough world out there for someone who is a bad looker. But I digress.
You know I am just looking for excuses to talk about Paris. I will leave you with this gem ----> Video
Hasta manana!

Carrot or the Stick?
At a lot of the meetings I go to, there is a lot of referencing to carrots and sticks. Before I started working in my office, I had never heard the term before but now it haunts me in my sleep. I had a really hard time figuring out what the heck everyone was talking about at first. Is the carrot on the stick? What kind of wood is said stick made out of? Perhaps they were referring to making something stick?According to wikipedia, "carrot and stick" is an idiom that refers to a policy of offering a reward for making progress towards benchmarks or goals but not necessarily ever actually delivering. The original metaphor referred to a boy sitting on a cart being pulled by a donkey. The boy held a long stick to which a carrot had been tied, and he dangled the carrot in front of the donkey but just out of its reach. As the donkey moved forward to get the carrot, it pulled the cart—and the boy—so that the carrot always remained just out of reach as the cart moved forward.
However, wikipedia offers this alternative definition, which I think that may be the one I am hearing at all these meetings:
Misused alternative: The term is misused currently to refer to the act of rewarding good behavior and punishing bad behavior. The carrot represents the edible reward, while the stick refers to a punishing switch.
Anyway, I have to attend these really boring meetings which are about something I really don't think I will ever have an interest in, and since the meetings are about changing current law, I figure I will just learn whatever the new law is after the change. But I discovered today that counting how many times the word "carrot" is used really helps pass the time.
So for the carrot count (after 1 hour I had to leave so after the complete 2 it may have been more):
Times "carrot" was said - 8
Times "big juicy carrot" was used - 1
I Don't Think it Tests for THAT Barron...
Me and Barron were watching "Real Chance of Love" and then "Scream Queens" (Barron's two favorite shows by the way) and this First Response Pregnancy test commercial was on about 2000 times. Actually, I will admit, I was watching these shows while Barron was across the room doing God knows what on his laptop. During one of these commercial breaks, I was treated to this exchange:Lady #1 on the commercial: Am I really pregnant?
Lady #2 on the commercial: Am I using the right test?
Barron: Who is the daddy?

An Early Halloween Video

Me and Barron went to a Halloween party on Saturday night at friends Billy and Rita's house. Billy spared no expense for this party compelete with dance floor, strobe lights, ice luge, flip cup, bumpin sound system, fog machine, giant roasted pig, all underneath a giant tent.
I was reminded at the party of another amazing party featuring an ice luge. It was a two person ice luge, and all was going swimmingly until me and Beth stepped up to the plate and I couldn't stop laughing at her and kept exhaling into the luge and therefore spitting juice into Beth's face. Good times! Also I am pretty sure this was the night of the blacklight party where we made Jenn skip ER much to her dismay and then she had a nice shirt on and everyone wrote on it and then someone spilled red jungle juice all over her. More good times!
But I digress. The party was really fun and Barron made one of his famous movies to accompany the pictures. The sound quality is kind of poor because it was so loud but if you can turn it up you will see features such as Billy dressed as a drunken bee and the famous "Ask a Samurai" segment.

Jurassic Nap
I had a dream last night that the city was being taken over by dinosaurs. Like there was no escaping these things! I was jumping out windows, running through the park, and even trying to swim to an island to no avail. Did you know veloceraptors are great swimmers? Well they are now. Also please note that dinosaurs will find you in a trash can among other places in a park. Also last night my television turned on for no reason around 4AM. Which the really weird thing about that is the other day I was watching Trading Spouses marathon on VH1 and this crazy lady said that happens to her television too.
I wish I was taking a nap with this t-rex. Although his belly seems to be getting in the way of stomach sleeping. How does a t-rex get up from this position anyway?
I will leave you with a dinosaur joke:
Q: What do you get when you cross a dinosaur with fireworks?
A: DINOMITE!

20/20 report
Rather they were doing a story on HeadCount, Marc Brownstein and Andy Bernstein's non-profit registering voters at concerts and other things. Unfortunately, the report is ridiculously one-sided and its too bad because I think HeadCount is really trying to do a good thing. The segment is basically trying to prove that young voters are uneducated and therefore, should not vote at all. I bet they wouldn't go into some poor town and try to prove the same thing though.
Anyway, make your own judgement. Below is the segment as well as Andy Bernstein's rebuttal.
